Catch The Vision

A conference for pastors, teachers, and laypeople interested in ministry to men and women in prison/jail and their families. The first conference was held on Saturday, April 30 through Sunday, May 1, 2005. It took place at the Crown Plaza St. Louis in Bridgeton, Missouri.

This conference was made possible by a generous grant from the LWML and was co-sponsored by LCMS World Relief and Human Care and the LCMS Southern Illinois District.

The “Catch the Vision” LCMS Prison/Jail Ministry Conference has two goals:

  • The Prison/Jail Plenary Sessions are for the purpose of assisting congregations and districts of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod to enhance present Prison/Jail Ministry and/or develop new ministries.

  • The workshops will serve to get districts and regions within districts connected with a goal to keep them connected by way of a network of communication through the coordinating efforts of LCMS World Relief and Human Care. The workshops will also provide information/instruction on specific types of prison/jail ministry as noted under the workshop section of this brochure.
