SID-LCMS 58th Convention - Confessing Christ

"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." Romans 10:9-10

The 2018 convention of the SID is February 8 - February 10, 2018, at the Regency Conference Center, O’Fallon, IL (exit 16 off I-64).

A District Convention is a special event in the life of our congregations.

Registration will open at 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 8

The opening service will begin at 6:00 p.m., February 8 at the Regency Conference Center followed by a “fellowship/break” with the Convention itself beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The Mission of the District Convention is to provide the congregations of the district with the opportunity to seek the will of God in making necessary decisions and to help the delegates grow in faith in Christ and in service in His name.  We are shaped, in doing so, by our common confession of Christ and our commitment to the Word of God.  We intend to conduct the meetings in a spirit of prayer and of seeking the Lord’s will and guidance for all our decisions.  We will use electronic voting as a means of expediting convention business.  As in the previous convention, we will have only two meals.  In the 2015 convention we ended our day with the Friday evening meal and fellowship.  We are planning to follow that schedule for this convention as well.

The theme for the 2018 convention is: "Confessing Christ"

The convention Bible verse is:  Romans 9-10 (ESV)   because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
