Loving, Forgiving, Serving in a World of Change

Lutheran Older Adult Retreat

Growing In Christ XVIII

May 1-2 • Pere Marquette Lodge, Grafton

You are invited to gather with other older adults from Southern and Central Illinois and Eastern Missouri for a special opportunity to enrich your faith, fellowship and fun at this retreat.

Keynote speaker

A much-loved Christian humorist, Jan Struck sees humor in every corner of what she describes as her lifetime of bizarre experiences. Her ministry is the blessing of serving the Lord as a popular speaker leading Bible studies, workshops and women’s retreats.

Jan brings a fresh approach to the journey of faith and uses her sense of humor as she shares her life with fellow travelers. Her keynote message is titled “New Every Morning!” based on Lam. 3:22-23.

Anti-wrinkle creams. Hair dyes. Teeth whiteners. Anything to look younger, society tells us. Yet the Lord has an even better “solution” to the aging process. He promises to make us new every morning — and His promises are true and guaranteed!

Jan will also provide some entertainment at the banquet Wednesday  evening.

Bible study leader

Rev. Mark Femmel is pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Maryland Heights, Mo. Mark was born in Indiana, grew up in Texas and now lives in St. Louis with his wife and two children.

He has been at Zion since the end of November 2009. He loves to preach, teach Bible study and reach out to his community.

The Thursday Bible study will be based on what heaven and paradise will be like and is titled “It Gets Better!”
