Lutheran Older Adult Retreat

This coming Oct 14th (Wed) & 15th (Thurs), the Southern IL & MO. Districts of the LCMS will be hosting the 19th Lutheran Older Adult Retreat at the Pere Marquette Lodge & Conference Center in Grafton, IL. The theme will be "20/20 Perfect Cross-Eyed Vision. ("Cross Eyed" simply means that our Eyes are focused on the Cross of Christ!). Our theme is based on John 12:21b…”we want to see Jesus."

Dr. Richard Bimler, expert on aging & humor, will be our Retreat Keynote Speaker. His theme is “I’m Getting Older – Get Over It And Get With It!”

Each day features an Opening Devotion, followed by 2 sessions of four, one-hour workshops from which participants may choose 1 from each session. Categories include Christian Growth, Lifestyles, Health/Helpful Info, and Fun/Misc Subjects of Interest. On Wed, Dinner will be followed by Musical Entertainment.

On Thurs, our Closing Bible Study & Devotion will be led by Prof. Rev Jeff Gibbs, Concordia Seminary-St. Louis. The title of his Bible study, is “It Doesn’t Look Like Glory To Me: Seeing Jesus As He Wants To Be Seen.”

Anyone 55 & above is invited to attend. The Retreat cost is $100/per person for both days, $75 for Wed only, & $50 for Thurs only. Meals included are Lunch & Dinner on Wed, Breakfast & Lunch on Thurs. Lodging is NOT included - attendees will need to make reservations with the Lodge, telling them they're attending the "LOAR".
