It is well with my soul! Mini-Retreat for Women

Immanuel, Waterloo, to host annual mini-retreat for women.

Join more than 80 ladies, including special guest Angie Walston, and together think about and discuss the hymn “When Peace, like a River” at the Women’s Mini-Retreat on Saturday, April 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 522 S. Church St., Waterloo.

Women of all ages and phases will connect with the concepts of rest, self care and connection, especially in the midst of busy lives and caring for others. Attendees will explore the hymn as a basis of study and, to examine the concept of “compassion fatigue,” reflect on Is. 66:12-13:

For thus says the Lord:

“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip, and bounced upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and will include breakfast, beautiful music and Angie’s inspirational message.

While pre-registrations are appreciated, walk-ins are always welcome too! There is no fee to attend, but free-will donations are welcome. The women of Immanuel will also accept donations of non-perishable food items and art and craft supplies for the Bi-County Backpack Program and Christian Friends of New Americans.
