Register for Pastor/Elder workshop
The Southern Illinois District will host a Pastor/Elder Workshop from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. All pastors and elders in the district are invited and encouraged to participate. The workshop is free and will be facilitated by Rev. David Fleming, associate executive director for Spiritual Care at DOXOLOGY.
Congregations have been facing difficult times, and with challenges often comes conflict. This workshop is intended to bring pastors and elders together in discussion to find ways to strengthen relationships and develop ideas to work together for the good of congregations, rather than working against one another. If the pastors and elders in our congregations work well together, attending the workshop will hopefully help them to grow even stronger together. If the pastors and elders in our congregations have conflict in their relationships, attending the workshop will hopefully help them to grow into a cohesive team.
Due to uncertainty during workshop planning because of COVID-19 restrictions, the workshop will be hosted online through Zoom. Pastors and elders may gather together at their congregation or a home to join in the Zoom discussion on a single device, or they may all be in separate locations on separate devices. The workshop format will include time for pastors and elders to have a conversation with each other, either in person or using the Zoom breakout room function.
To register for this workshop, please send an email to Rev. Kirk Clayton at firstname.lastname@example.org. Paster Clayton will send a Zoom invitation in advance of the meeting. The workshop is free.
The email address for each person who will join the Zoom meeting on a separate device is needed.
Please RSVP to Pastor Clayton by Monday, Sept. 14.
Pastors and elders are a gift from God to each other and the congregation. The goal of this workshop is to strengthen this relationship for the greater blessing of God’s people. Please make plans to join together in this workshop.
We look forward to growing together for the good of God’s people!
